From the stage to the recording studio, the TAMA S.L.P. Fat Spruce shell pack excels wherever you need a fat, resonant drum sound with solid mids and a natural, pure tone. Its spruce shells are accented by balanced-sounding overtones thanks to TAMA's dynamic bearing edges. Meanwhile, die-cast hoops yield a clear, focused attack. Brass tube lugs deliver a classic look, while Evans G1 batter heads (included) provide uniformity across the kit. The S.L.P. Fat Spruce shell pack boasts a super-wide tuning range, making it suitable for a myriad of musical situations — jazz, R&B, blues, rock — everything sounds great on this kit.
For warm, resonant drum tones, spruce is king. The S.L.P. Fat Spruce's 6-ply (toms) and 8-ply (kick) 100% spruce shells are incredibly fat-sounding, with balanced-sounding overtones courtesy of TAMA's dynamic bearing edges, and an incredible visual presentation via a limited-edition finish. While the Fat Spruce has plenty of projection for the stage, its balance and character will be most appreciated under close mics in the studio environment.
