Description

The Seymour Duncan MortalCoil 7-String Active Mount Neck Humbucker is a highly versatile active pickup designed for extended-range guitarists who want powerful modern metal tones without sacrificing the flexibility to explore classic and clean sounds. Featuring three precision-engineered voices, MortalCoil can transform the character of your guitar at the flick of a switch, making it an incredibly adaptable choice for the neck position.

Its primary MC1 voice delivers a tight, aggressive modern metal sound with fast attack, controlled low end and excellent note definition. It is designed to remain focused and articulate under extreme gain, making it ideal for heavy riffing, fast passages, palm mutes and complex extended-range playing.

Switch to Voice 2 for an authentic passive-style character inspired by the legendary Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz pickups. This setting offers singing highs, expressive sustain and a full-bodied response, giving your 7-string a more traditional and organic feel.

Voice 3 provides a clear and articulate single-coil-style tone with plenty of output to remain balanced with the other voices. It is particularly useful for sparkling cleans, lighter gain and moments where you want additional tonal clarity and openness.

Designed in an Active Mount format, the MortalCoil is an easy upgrade for compatible 7-string guitars routed for active-sized pickups. Its black finish gives it a sleek, modern appearance that complements contemporary metal instruments.
