Launchkey 49 supports all major DAWs right out of the box, with seamless integration for Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, Reason Studios, Reaper, FL Studio, and Ardour. This means you get a hardware-driven workflow that gives you full control of transport, timeline navigation, mixing, EQ, clip launching, and instrument and effect parameters. When using Ableton Live’s Session View or Logic’s Live Loops, the 16 drum pads double as Launchpad-style clip launchers with RGB backlighting that syncs perfectly with your screen.

The Launchkey 49’s upgraded semi-weighted keybed is sensitive enough for delicate passages yet built to last. With 49 semi-weighted, waterfall-style keys, Launchkey gives you the power of a software-based workflow combined with the tactile feel of a premium hardware instrument.

For finger drummers, Launchkey now features Novation's patented, velocity-sensitive FSR drum pads with polyphonic aftertouch. Each pad uses a unique radial sensor that enhances sensitivity and consistency for tighter performances, unlike standard pads.

Launchkey 49’s creative tools are built directly into the hardware, so they work seamlessly in your DAW, with your hardware synths, or on mobile devices. Scale Modes allow you to lock your keyboard to one of 30 scales to eliminate wrong notes, or map everything to just the white keys. The Fixed Chord mode triggers full chords from a single key, and the new Chord Maps let you craft emotive progressions from the pads. Plus, the latest version of Novation's popular arpeggiator makes it easier to twist and mutate your sequences for endless inspiration.

Launchkey 49 comes with everything you need to start creating music right away. It includes Ableton Live 12 Lite for recording and performing with up to eight tracks of MIDI or audio, along with a suite of instruments, effects, and creative tools—all fully optimized for Launchkey. You also get a selection of additional studio-grade effects and sounds from Novation and Focusrite.
