Description
The MXR M310 Textures Granular Synth Engine is an innovative sound-design pedal that transforms your guitar signal into entirely new sonic landscapes using granular synthesis and advanced audio processing. By capturing your playing and breaking it into tiny audio fragments called grains, the Textures pedal rearranges, reverses, pitch-shifts and layers sounds to create shimmering ambient pads, glitch-inspired rhythms, evolving synth textures and atmospheric soundscapes.
Featuring three operating modes—Delay, Auto Freeze and Layers—the M310 offers an extensive range of creative possibilities. Eight onboard presets provide instant access to inspiring sounds, while dedicated Size, Overlap, Pitch, Reverse, Time, Regen and Mix controls let you shape every aspect of the granular processing.
To take sound design even further, the Textures includes onboard reverb, filtering and vibrato effects, along with secondary parameters for randomisation, tap tempo and additional tonal adjustments. With stereo connectivity and external expression control, the MXR M310 is a powerful creative tool for guitarists, keyboard players and experimental musicians.
- Granular Synthesis Engine: Captures incoming audio and breaks it into small fragments called grains, which can be manipulated to create unique textures and soundscapes.
- Three Operating Modes: Choose between Delay, Auto Freeze and Layers modes for different approaches to sampling, playback and sustain.
- Delay Mode: Continuously records and replays audio as individual grains for evolving rhythmic and ambient effects.
- Auto Freeze Mode: Automatically sustains incoming notes and chords while processing them into granular textures.
- Layers Mode: Allows up to four notes or chords to be sustained simultaneously, creating rich layered sounds.
- Eight Onboard Presets: Provides ready-to-use sounds ranging from regenerative octave loops and polyphonic synth textures to glitch effects and atmospheric pads.
- Grain Size Control: Adjusts the length of individual grains to create everything from short, glitchy fragments to longer musical passages.
- Overlap Control: Determines the number of grains playing simultaneously, from 1 to 30.
- Pitch Control: Shifts granular playback across a range of two octaves down to two octaves up.
- Reverse Function: Plays sampled grains backwards for reversed textures and experimental effects.
- Time Control: Adjusts delay time, recording length or layer attack depending on the selected operating mode.
- Regen Control: Adjusts feedback and regeneration to create cascading repeats and evolving textures.
- Mix Control: Blends the original dry signal with the processed granular sound.
- Built-In Effects: Includes reverb, filtering and vibrato for additional depth, movement and tonal character.
- Secondary Parameters: Unlocks additional controls for randomisation, reverb settings, filter cutoff, vibrato, pitch quantisation and tap tempo.
- Expression Pedal Compatibility: Supports external expression control for real-time parameter adjustment and sound morphing.
- Stereo Connectivity: Configurable stereo input and output options, including mono, wet/dry and true stereo configurations.
- External Control Support: Compatible with the MXR Split + Tap for hands-free preset selection, tap tempo and freeze control.
- Compact MXR Design: Fits easily onto pedalboards while offering extensive sound-design capabilities.
- 9V DC Power: Requires a compatible 9V DC centre-negative power supply capable of delivering at least 300mA. Power supply sold separately; battery operation is not supported.
