Description

The D’Addario NYXL 8-String Custom Light / Super Light (9–80) set is a high-performance uncoated string pack designed for extended-range guitars, offering exceptional flexibility, durability, and tonal clarity. Built with a high-carbon NY Steel core and nickel-plated wrap wire, these strings provide increased break resistance, improved tuning stability, and a powerful midrange response that cuts through dense mixes. Balanced for longer scale lengths, the 9–80 gauge delivers smooth playability on the top strings with tight, defined low-end performance—ideal for modern 8-string styles.

  • Custom light 8-string gauge (9–80): Flexible feel with a tight, articulate low string
  • NY Steel core construction: Up to 40% greater strength and improved break resistance
  • Enhanced tuning stability: Stays in tune longer and tunes faster than standard strings
  • Nickel-plated steel wrap: Bright tone with pronounced midrange presence and output
  • Fusion Twist technology: Improved tuning reliability and durability
  • Balanced for extended scale guitars: Optimized tension across longer scale lengths
  • Uncoated design: Natural feel with maximum resonance and sustain
