Behringer ECM Pro Ultra-Linear Measurement Condenser Microphone

Behringer ECM Pro Ultra-Linear Measurement Condenser Microphone from Joondalup Music Centre

The ECM PRO is a high-precision condenser microphone specifically crafted for use with real-time analysers. Its primary function is to provide an instantaneous acoustic snapshot of the room’s sound characteristics. Think of it as a sonic detective – it helps you uncover the room’s secrets! When you place the ECM PRO in the room, it captures the ambient sound. This data is then analysed by tools like the Behringer ULTRACURVE DEQ2496, which processes the information. The result? A detailed understanding of the room’s acoustic behaviour. Armed with this knowledge, you can fine-tune your sound system to match the room’s response. Adjust your graphic equalizer (EQ) settings based on the ECM PRO’s findings. The goal is to achieve consistent and perfect sound regardless of the room’s size or shape. It’s ultra-affordable, making it accessible to both seasoned professionals and aspiring engineers.

The ECM PRO boasts a ruler-flat frequency response spanning from 20 Hz to 30 kHz. This wide range ensures that it captures sound accurately across the entire spectrum. The microphone’s omnidirectional pickup pattern means it captures sound from all directions. This feature is particularly useful for assessing room acoustics, as it provides an unbiased reading of the environment. Like most condenser microphones used for recording or live performances, the ECM PRO requires phantom power. Supply it with +9 to +52 V to unleash its capabilities.

To ensure a long life of smooth operation, Behringer have included these essential accessories: Microphone clamp – securely attach your ECM PRO to stands or mounts, 3/8” ~ 5/8” thread adapter – versatility for different mounting options and a carrying case – safely transport your ECM PRO wherever your sonic adventures take you!
