The KeyLab 88 Mk3 delivers a premium full-sized MIDI controller experience for studio and stage. With 88 fully-weighted hammer-action keys, a rich control surface with faders, encoders, pads, and a large colour screen, it allows you to play like a pianist and control like a producer — all in one instrument. Designed to integrate seamlessly with your DAW and hardware synths, it’s both expressive and workflow-focused.
Key Features
- Authentic keybed: The Fatar TP/110 hammer-action keybed delivers full weighted response with aftertouch — perfect for expressive performance from soft to thunderous chords.
- Extensive controls: Nine 360° touch-sensitive rotary encoders, nine motor-faders, 12 RGB velocity & pressure-sensitive pads (with 4 banks), pitch & mod wheels, transport/DAW controls.
- High-resolution display: A 3.5″ full-colour screen with 8 contextual buttons provides deep visual feedback and makes browsing presets or editing parameters much easier.
- Smart creative modes: Includes built-in Scale mode (lock the keybed to a scale), Chord Play mode (complex voicings on a single key), and Arpeggiator with Hold function — great for inspiration and performance.
- Robust connectivity: USB-C for computer connection/power, standard 5-pin MIDI DIN In/Out, pedal inputs for sustain, expression & auxiliary, plus full DAW integration (Ableton Live, Logic, Studio One, Cubase, Bitwig) and hardware synth compatibility.
- Premium build & aesthetics: Real wood side-panels (or wood legs option), high-density materials, and strong build quality. Arturia says each unit undergoes 180 individual tests to ensure durability.
- Software bundle included: Comes with Arturia’s Analog Lab Pro (thousands of sounds), Ableton Live Lite, plus a subscription to Loopcloud, Melodics lessons and more — allowing you to start producing right out of the box.
Ideal Uses
- Studio keyboardists & composers: If you want full-sized piano action plus deep control of virtual instruments and plugins, this is a fantastic choice.
- Live performers: With its robust build, stage-ready controls and large keybed, it works well for live sets where both playing and control matter.
- Hybrid synth/piano players: The weighted hammer-action keys suit piano sounds, while the pads and controls give rich flexibility for synths, samples, DAWs.
- Control centre for your setup: It acts as both a playable instrument and a control surface — so you can reduce reliance on mouse/keyboard and stay in the musical flow.
